Solar PV
Does the production become revenue?
Challenge yield, captured electricity prices, PPA terms and curtailment assumptions. Test whether the price still works when output or commissioning changes.
Investment & location decisions · SSI-ENN
For PV, wind, PV+BESS hybrids and standalone BESS projects. Use SSI-ENN software to analyse the investment and its location together: identify weak economics, grid constraints and missing evidence before committing capital. Then keep valuation and reporting current as the asset develops and operates.
Full capability is live for Italy; other countries upon request. Local data, asset type and reporting scope are confirmed for each engagement.
Requests through 31 March 2027. Start with one project and the decision you need to make.
One asset. More than one dimension.
Cash flows, investment and contract assumptions
Connection context, dependencies and exposure
Scenarios, material gaps and a traceable decision
One software analysis brings together the project, its market and its grid connection. The scope follows your technology, development stage and investment decision.
Solar PV
Challenge yield, captured electricity prices, PPA terms and curtailment assumptions. Test whether the price still works when output or commissioning changes.
Wind
Review production and availability assumptions alongside grid constraints, operating costs and exposure to weather. Identify what the technical diligence must resolve.
PV+BESS hybrids
Compare solar-only and combined cases. Account for shared connection limits, charging energy, losses and the timing of sales without counting the same energy twice.
Standalone BESS
Test market and contracted income, duration, operating costs and battery renewal. Separate achievable cash flow from theoretical market opportunity.
SSI-ENN connects project economics with grid-node context, climate exposure and infrastructure dependencies. Use the combined view to shortlist sites, challenge an acquisition price or prioritise the next diligence question.
Explore what sits behind a substation profile →Software outputs with scenarios and sensitivities, the material evidence gaps and the assumptions that change the results. Add updated model calculations and data exports for your investor, lender or operating-asset reporting process.
Full capability is live for Italy; other OECD countries and technology-specific scope are confirmed on request. The public calculator is an initial financial screen. A configured SSI-ENN analysis adds your project data and the relevant technical and market inputs.
Project pre-screening & due-diligence preparation
Spot a weak investment case early. Test price, cash flow and required return before deciding what deserves deeper due diligence.
Examples A and B use real Italian portfolio sizes with invented financial assumptions: one meets a 10% return target, the other misses it. Example C is a wholly hypothetical solar-and-storage project. All prices, cash flows and returns are demonstrations-not project terms, market forecasts or sale offers.
Demo A: €650,000 purchase price + €50,000 additional capex per MW; €100,000 annual net cash flow per MW. Illustrative assumptions only.
Edit the total project amounts below. Cash flow is after operating costs, before tax and financing. Changing examples or resetting reloads its demonstration assumptions.
The €40m base investment is a hypothetical €30m for PV, €8m for BESS and €2m for shared works; an extra €2m is entered separately. The €4.5m annual net cash flow represents the whole project, including an assumed allowance for maintenance and battery renewal. These round figures illustrate the screening process; they are not a build-cost estimate or yield forecast.
For your project, account for charging energy, losses and the PV revenue forgone when electricity charges the battery. Do not count the same MWh as both a PV sale and a battery sale. The flat cash-flow model does not simulate hourly dispatch or the timing of battery replacement; those are due-diligence questions.

Your initial decision screen
Positive NPV means the model exceeds your required return; negative NPV means it falls short. IRR is the annual return implied by the entered cash flows.
The configured software can also:
Cumulative cash flow discounted at your required return, after the upfront investment. The final balance equals NPV.
NPV with annual net cash flow 20% lower or higher; price, capex, discount rate, life and terminal value stay unchanged. A sensitivity, not a forecast.
NPV = discounted annual net operating cash flows + discounted terminal value − purchase price or base investment − additional upfront capex. IRR is the discount rate at which NPV becomes zero. Simple payback divides the initial investment by annual cash flow; it is undiscounted, excludes terminal value and is not shown beyond the modelled operating period. The annual break-even cash flow is the constant annual amount needed for zero NPV at your required return.
This is a project pre-screening and due-diligence preparation tool, not a completed due diligence or a project valuation. It uses constant year-end cash flows before financing and tax. Debt, taxes, degradation, changing energy prices, construction delays and replacement capex are not modelled separately. The configured software models relevant scenarios and constraints from the supplied data. Grid or societal benefits are not automatically investor revenue.
SSI-ENN supports decisions from acquisition to operating-asset reporting.
Value & scenarios
Model project economics, compare operating and financing assumptions, and test sensitivities before committing capital.
Benchmarking
Compare assets and portfolio exposures against their market and grid context. Refresh valuations as assumptions change.
Operating-asset reporting
Prepare traceable evidence for CSRD/ESRS, EU Taxonomy and SFDR reporting where applicable. Link disclosures to data and method.
Resilience & climate
Examine infrastructure dependencies, climate exposure and compound-risk scenarios alongside the financial case.
Grid value
Assess flexibility, congestion relief and potential services at the relevant grid node. Distinguish system value from contracted revenue.
Societal & ESG impact
Explore reliability, local economic effects and environmental impacts in a separate community view.
Distinct views of the same asset. Societal and grid benefits are not automatically cash flow. Reporting scope and applicable requirements are agreed by country and asset; Italian reference workflows are available. Evidence supports, rather than replaces, the responsible reporting and assurance process.

Should the investor pursue a lower-priced project or a more advanced alternative with clearer grid conditions?
Project documents, connection terms, cost and revenue assumptions, climate exposure and available operating evidence.
Acquisition, phased investment or deferral, tested against delay, cost, price and availability scenarios.
NPV/IRR sensitivities, an alternatives comparison, a missing-information register and a structured memo for the customer’s decision-makers.
Public research and sample reports show the approach. A configured software analysis uses your private project data and scenarios to generate reviewable outputs and maintain the supporting data.

Investment, ESG & compliance evidence
A project-specific pack for an investment committee, lender or reporting team: relevant schedules, sources, assumptions, scenario results and a register of missing information.
Agree an initial setup and paid updates, or include the evidence in your assessment or portfolio service. Applicable requirements and assurance responsibilities are defined in the scope.
